Winter Sycamores, oil on linen, 20 x 20
This painting was begun en plein air one cold day on a local Virginia Farm. The light on the white tree branches contrasting with the warm colors on the mountain is what first attracted my eye. The trees appeared to be dancing in the long afternoon light.
